The ultimate profit happens at the top of the hierarchy. The man on top of the situation profits most because he sees the big picture and is able to apply clearer decisions and make better judgement.

It takes toil to reach the top and vigilance to maintain the summit, and because you do not have a guarantee of staying on top after you get there, every leader is ruled by the fear of loosing out, often leading to the danger for a leader succumbing to ruthlessness and desperation , which ultimately can lead to a distruption and eventual collapse of the entire hierarchy. 

The ultimate winner is the man who can perfect and balance the act of engaging ,observing , judging, and most importantly being able to maintain cohesiveness of the entire matrix of the hierachy. The ideal of such is Christ, he alone is on top of issues, we need to win Christ if we hope to win all, in Him we have the ultimate clarity to engage,to observe, to judge , to rule, and we gain, full measure, pressed down, shaken and abundantly!
